BASIC BREATHING WORKSHOP with Suzann Kale ... a Vocal Vibrance production
This is the classical breathing technique that I teach in my book Vocal Vibrance. It's a solid basis for all genres of song, from opera to jazz to rock. With this breathing technique, your voice has control, power, and precision.

BREATHING LESSONS FROM A YOGA STAR ... Agustin Aguerreberry of Ford Models
The first half of the vid demonstrates some yoga breathing that fits in perfectly with one of the breathing techniques that I teach in my book Vocal Vibrance. Note especially the sharp, diaphragmatic exhales! These are perfect exercises for strengthening the diaphragm muscle. The only difference I'd suggest for singers and speakers is that you exhale through your mouth instead of through your nose.

VOICE LESSONS FROM THE STARS ... Chris Connor
Here is what we can learn from Ms. Connor as she sings Chinatown, My Chinatown (written by Jean Schwartz and William Jerome):

1) Vocal agility. We need to vocalize daily, and include agility exercises in our regimen. Arpeggios work well. Start slowly, and increase the speed of your arpeggio little by little. When you hit a speed that causes you to lose precision in intonation or dynamics, then go back to the previous tempo.

2) Sing in a register, range, and/or key that allows you your richest tone. Chris is singing this song mainly in her chest register, although when she hits a high note, she may be switching to her head register. The switch is so seamless you can hardly tell.

(This is from YouTube, posted by divanote. Ms. Connor recorded it in 1958.)
